Sylvia Berens co-founded Apunix Computer Services 26 years ago after receiving her doctorate from the University of California, San Diego. She is Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Apunix.
She has been a presenter at most of the industry conferences, has given many workshops, and has worked to promote the self service industry. Sylvia has been a member of the executive committee of Self-Service & Kiosk Association (formerly Kiosks.org) for the past several years and was one of the original inductees into the Kiosk Hall of Fame.
Why would you make a good Self-Service & Kiosk Association Advisory Board member?
I have appreciated the opportunity to serve on the board this past term. The self service industry is growing and I believe that having an industry organization that can help increase the visibility and promote the growth of self service solutions is important. Helping prospective members and deployers understand the value of working with the quality members/vendors who participate in this organization is a key goal of mine. Over my nine years in this industry, I have developed good working relationships with all the various vendors that comprise the self service community. I have been known for trying to promote a level playing field where all companies, large and small, that have quality products can compete fairly and amenably to provide the best solution possible for the customer. I believe the industry needs good, reference-able deployments and by working together through this organization potential customers will come to see the value of working with its member vendors.
I believe the past board has worked well together, and I would look forward to continuing to serve again, and continue the work we have started.
I welcome hearing the perspective of all members, and hope we can grow the value of the organization to the membership. I would hope that the industry experience and ability to work with others would be an asset to the board.
